Manchester United are keen on signing Newcastle United's Lewis Hall according to reports.

The Red Devils have been interested in bringing in a new left back to provide cover to Luke Shaw ahead of the new season with United having a much more full fixture list.

According to journalist Andy Mitten in The National, the club are interested in signing the defender with a feeling that the England international would be open to the move.

The main stumbling block would be the price with United missing out on preferred midfield candidates this summer in a bid to keep transfer expenditure low. Indeed, Newcastle will not be happy to sell having already seen Sandro Tonali leave this summer with Bruno Guimarães expected to follow.

Any move would also likely see an exit for teenager Harry Amass who has featured in pre-season so far and has featured seven times for the senior side previously.
