According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United are exploring a five-man striker shortlist to support Benjamin Sesko next season, with Victor Osimhen their dream target, but the cost to prise him from Galatasaray is a major hurdle.
Sesko’s debut year returned 12 goals in 32 appearances and 1,817 minutes, and the club believe another proven number nine is needed to finish the rebuild.
Osimhen has 22 goals in 33 games this season and 59 in 74 for Galatasaray. His €75 million permanent move in 2025 underpins a valuation that would make any deal extremely expensive, so cheaper and more flexible options are being assessed.
CaughtOffside lists Jean-Philippe Mateta as a practical Premier League option, and says Dusan Vlahovic is being monitored amid uncertainty over his Juventus future. Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi is viewed as a shrewd long-term investment.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT reports that outgoing Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is under consideration as a short-term addition. His experience and potential mentorship for Sesko are seen as valuable.
Sesko is expected to remain first choice next season, so United must narrow their options quickly. Formal talks with a preferred target are likely in the coming weeks, with a first pre-season friendly against Wrexham on July 18.
