Nonetheless, Ruben Amorim is said to be “weighing up” the possibility of bring in a new pair of hands as injury cover or to provide competition for Onana.

The manager currently has Altay Bayındır, Tom Heaton and Radek Vitek as back-up options in his squad.

Man Utd’s pre-season kicks off with a friendly against Premier League rival Leeds United in Sweden next week before they fly out to the United States for games against West Ham, Bournemouth, and Everton.

Andre Onana was previously linked with Monaco and Saudi Pro League clubs earlier in the transfer window, while The Football Faithful reported that the Red Devils were interested in signing Emi Martinez from Aston Villa as a possible replacement.
