Manchester City and Huddersfield Town have confirmed their starting lineups ahead of tonight’s Carabao Cup tie. The two teams meet in the third round of the competition at the Accu Stadium.

Lee Grant’s side has beaten Leicester City and Sunderland, both victories coming via penalty shootouts, to book a home tie against Manchester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup. They have beaten two highly fancied opponents and will be eager to cause a famous upset tonight. They will also be up for the occasion and will be backed by a vocal home crowd at the Accu Stadium.

Pep Guardiola will rest several key players for tonight’s match after a tough week of fixtures last week. It is expected that Erling Haaland and Rodri will not feature against Huddersfield Town. Omar Marmoush, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Rayan Cherki and Abdukodir Khusanov are all unavailable for tonight’s match due to injury. Their unavailability could see young players such as Divine Mukasa and Stephen Mfuni start for Manchester City.

Manchester City

Pep Guardiola has made a plethora of changes to the starting lineup that drew 1-all with Arsenal. In total, Guardiola has made nine changes. The highlights are that there are six Manchester City academy graduates in the starting eleven. There are also four academy players on the bench for tonight’s match.

Divine Mukasa makes his first start for Manchester City. The young attacking midfielder will make his first-team debut for the club in what is a special moment for Mukasa. Kalvin Phillips is on the bench which shows that his City career isn’t over just yet
