In a recent post on X, journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed that Manchester City are confident about recruiting Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson this summer. It has been stated that the Mancunian club are about to finalise a move to bring the English talent to the Etihad Stadium this off-season.
Anderson enjoyed an impressive campaign at the Midlands club as he put in a run of solid performances at the centre of their midfield. The 23-year-old did well to score four times and pick up five assists in 50 matches for Nottingham last season in various competitions.
The English sensation is currently one of the most consistent central midfielders in the Premier League. Therefore, it is no wonder that Man City are hoping to get a deal done for Anderson this off-season.
His current contract at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for the Mancunian club to sign him on a cut-price deal in this transfer window.

Anderson is a tough-tackling midfielder who can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is full of energy and running at the centre of the park.
The English sensation can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third. Anderson is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if asked to do so. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club if they manage to get him on board this summer.
Anderson would bring more bite and steel to Man City’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming years.
At 23, Anderson has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a good choice for the Premier League club to consider this off-season. He will also help Man City challenge across all fronts in the future. All in all, the Mancunian giants should focus on trying everything they can to snap Anderson up this summer.
