In a recent report, Tuttomercatoweb mentioned that Manchester City are facing stiff competition for Udinese midfielder Arthur Atta. It has been stated that the Mancunian giants would have to rival Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Barcelona in the race to land the French talent next year.

Atta’s Impressive Form In Serie A

The 22-year-old has put in a string of impressive displays for Udinese this season in the middle of the park. Atta has found the back of the net twice and earned a couple of assists in 12 matches for the Italian club in this campaign so far in various competitions.

The French sensation has caught the eye at times in the opponent’s half by averaging 2.09 shots per 90 minutes in Serie A. He has kept 40.9% of his attempts on target. Atta has even distributed the ball accurately from midfield after completing 79.1% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2029. Thus, it won’t be easy for Man City to sign him on the cheap next year.

Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Get Atta On Board?

Atta excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.

Standing at 1.89m, the French talent can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. Atta is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play as a right-winger if needed. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if Man City manage to snap him up in 2026.

Atta would enhance the quality of Pep Guardiola’s midfield department. He has what it takes to compete for a regular first-team spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years.

At 22, the future looks quite bright for Atta as long as he continues to improve with each season. Therefore, Guardiola should focus on going all out to get him on board next year.
