In a recent report, Takvim mentioned that Manchester City are showing interest in Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara this summer. It has been stated that the Mancunian club are facing competition from Manchester United in the race to land the Brazilian talent this off-season.

Sara’s Impressive Run Of Form In Turkish Football

Sara enjoyed a good run of form at the Turkish club last season when he produced a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The Brazilian midfield ace featured in 45 matches for Galatasaray in the previous campaign, scoring two goals and earning ten assists in all competitions.

The 26-year-old managed to catch the eye going forward by averaging 2.1 shots per 90 minutes in the Turkish Super Lig. He kept 23.6% of his attempts on target (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Galatasaray will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it tough for Man City to sign him on the cheap in this transfer window.

Should Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola Snap Sara Up?

Sara can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the vision to create a few inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net. He is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and doesn’t shy away from working hard for his side defensively at the centre of the park.

The Brazilian sensation is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also fill in as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if required. However, only time will tell whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Man City manage to land him this summer.

Sara would no doubt enhance the quality of Pep Guardiola’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for regular first-team football at the Etihad Stadium next season.

At 26, Sara has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a worthy target for the Mancunian giants to pursue in this transfer window. However, Guardiola has to give him some time before he can unlock the best out of the talented playmaker at the Etihad. All in all, Man City would be wise to go all out to snap him up this summer.
