Manchester City’s preparations for Leeds United are clouded by Jeremy Doku’s absence from training this week, leaving the winger a doubt for Saturday. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, he did not appear in images from the latest session.

Doku has missed City’s last six matches after a calf injury in the 2-0 Champions League win over Galatasaray. Before Newcastle last weekend, Pep Guardiola said the 23-year-old was “not ready”.

Guardiola has not set a return date and there had been hope for Elland Road. A club gallery posted on Wednesday evening did not show him with the group, so he remains a major doubt.

Max Alleyne featured in the gallery doing gym work. The 20-year-old missed Newcastle after a knock in the FA Cup win at Salford City, and while close to fitness, the former Watford loanee might still miss the squad with senior centre-backs back.

Longer-term absentees Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic were also not pictured and are set to miss Saturday. Gvardiol sustained a tibial fracture in January, while Kovacic has an ankle injury.

Leeds will be without Noah Okafor after a hamstring issue at Birmingham City earlier this month. Daniel Farke initially said two-to-four weeks and that he would miss Aston Villa and City, and he is due to update today on Okafor and left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson, who came off at half-time against Villa due to illness.
