Manchester City have joined Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to sign Hertha Berlin’s highly rated teenage midfielder Kennet Eichhorn, with Bayern Munich also closely monitoring his situation.

The growing list of suitors could work in Hertha’s favour, as the club are expected to demand a significant transfer fee if they decide to part ways with one of their most prized young assets.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City are actively looking to strengthen their midfield depth ahead of the summer, and City’s late entry into the race has only intensified the competition for the German wonderkid.

Kennet Eichhorn: Fight for the German gem?

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City view the 16-year-old as a highly intriguing profile, fitting their long-term recruitment strategy of investing in elite young talent.

Eichhorn is currently enjoying a breakthrough campaign with Hertha in Bundesliga 2, where he has already made 13 appearances, showcasing maturity well beyond his years.

His composure on the ball, positional intelligence and ability to dictate tempo have marked him out as one of the most exciting prospects in German football.

The midfielder is widely regarded as a top-tier talent, and Bayern Munich are particularly wary of losing such a player to a Premier League club.

Christian Falk has informed CFBayern Insider that Man City have already made contact with the player’s camp, joining Arsenal and Manchester United in formally expressing their interest.

Bayern Munich stance on Kennet Eichhorn

Bayern are expected to undergo some reshaping in midfield this summer, with Leon Goretzka set to leave following the expiry of his contract. However, the club are not under immediate pressure to make major signings in that area.

The Bavarian giants possess considerable depth in midfield and traditionally place strong trust in their academy pipeline, which continues to produce high-level prospects.

Falk adds that Bayern are generally reluctant to recruit externally for this position, given the wealth of talent already progressing through their youth ranks. That said, Eichhorn’s profile is considered exceptional enough to warrant serious consideration.

At the same time, Bayern are keenly aware of the risks of allowing a player of his calibre to move to the Premier League. Once young talents establish themselves in England, it often becomes extremely difficult to bring them back to the Bundesliga.

Kennet Eichhorn is viewed as one of the brightest emerging players in Germany, and while Bayern may not be leading the race at this stage, they remain firmly in contention as they weigh up whether to make a decisive move to bring him to Munich.
