Etihad Stadium officials have been linked with an interest in one of the Premier League’s standout defenders, according to new reports.
The right-back position is expected to remain a focal point of Manchester City’s transfer planning, with Pep Guardiola and sporting director Hugo Viana continuing to evaluate long-term solutions following the departure of Kyle Walker to Burnley in the summer.
While the emergence of Abdukodir Khusanov and Matheus Nunes, as well as the development of Rico Lewis, have offered cover, the general consensus is that all profile are more rotational options rather than permanent fixtures for now.
Recent months have seen Manchester City linked with several potential signings across Europe – including Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso – as they seek to identify a player capable of handling both the defensive intensity and tactical flexibility demanded by Guardiola’s system.
Now, according to the information of journalist Julián Capera speaking with F5 al Mercado de Pases and relayed by Semana – translated by Sport Witness, Manchester City are among the clubs in the picture to sign Crystal Palace right-back Daniel Muñoz.
“You’re asking about Barcelona, PSG, and Chelsea. The situation is this: his team, his representatives, have had informal communications, that’s how they’ve expressed it to me, with some representatives from those clubs,” says Julián Capera.
Capera continued, “There have been polls and informal talks with people from Barcelona, with people from PSG, and even Chelsea and Manchester City have been added to that list. As of today, November 11th 2025, there is no formal offer for Daniel Muñoz.”
Muñoz, who has impressed since arriving in the Premier League from Genk, is one of Crystal Palace’s most consistent performers, blending aggression, stamina, and composure on the ball to earn him admirers across Europe.
Manchester City’s interest comes at a time when Pep Guardiola continues to deploy Matheus Nunes at right-back most prominently, while the club continues to “keep a close eye” on the position ahead of the January transfer window, as per recent reports.
Looking ahead, City could monitor Muñoz’s situation closely over the coming months, particularly if the Colombian international becomes available at a reasonable valuation.
