A new report has indicated that the French international is expected to return to training in the near future. It appears that Manchester City may have received an unexpected boost on the injury front.

Loic Tanzi has reported for L’Equipe that Rayan Cherki underwent an MRI scan earlier this week. The scan revealed that Cherki’s muscle injury had healed. Furthermore, it is reported by Tanzi that the creative midfielder has resumed rehabilitation work. Tanzi further reports that Cherki will return to Manchester City training in the coming days. Lastly, Loic Tanzi reports that Cherki could be a part of Manchester City’s squad for their upcoming UEFA Champions League fixture against AS Monaco, or for Manchester City’s trip to the GTech Community Stadium to take on Brentford on Sunday week. It is unlikely that Cherki will be available for Manchester City’s next Premier League match against Burnley.
