In a recent report, Goal.com revealed that Manchester City playmaker Phil Foden is gathering interest from Turkey. It has been mentioned that Galatasaray are showing interest in signing the English talent from the Mancunian club this summer.

Foden’s Impressive Numbers In The Premier League

Foden managed to shine at times with his performances for Man City in the previous campaign when he put in a run of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 26-year-old made 50 appearances for Man City last season, scoring ten times and securing seven assists in the process across various competitions.

The English attacker is currently among the most talented playmakers in the Premier League. Thus, Man City should consider keeping hold of him beyond this summer.

His current contract at the Etihad Stadium will run out at the end of next season. Hence, the Mancunian club have got no choice but to cash in on him if they fail to tie him down to a new contract this summer.

Should Manchester City Boss Enzo Maresca Cut Foden Loose This Summer?

Foden is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the vision to create some promising chances for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The English talent can contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. Foden mainly functions in the number ten position but can also play as a winger on either flank if asked to do so by his manager. However, he is on an expiring contract and is currently not a regular starter in Man City’s first team.

Still, Foden has what it takes to play an important role for the Mancunian giants in the coming seasons. At 26, he has his best years ahead of him and would have a great resale value in the future.

However, with less than 12 months remaining in his current contract at Man City, Enzo Maresca should consider cashing in on him this off-season and using the money generated from his potential sale to bring in a suitable replacement before the end of this summer transfer period.
