Manchester City are firmly in the race to sign Aston Villa playmaker Morgan Rogers this summer, as per a new report.
Rogers has established himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League since joining forces with Unai Emery at Aston Villa, whom he joined from Middlesbrough in 2024.
The 23-year-old has made the cut for Thomas Tuchel‘s England squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup off the back of another impressive season at Villa Park that saw the Midlands outfit record a fourth-place Premier League finish and win the UEFA Europa League.

A product of Manchester City‘s academy, Rogers has his best years ahead of him and has attracted widespread interest from clubs in the Premier League and abroad ahead of the summer transfer window.
As reported by journalist Graeme Bailey, Manchester City have joined a wide array of clubs in the race to sign Rogers ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have all been credited with an interest in the City Football Academy graduate, who is under contract at Villa Park till 2031.
Aston Villa want to keep Rogers but could be tempted to cash in on the England international for a club record fee, which would surpass the £100 million Manchester City paid the UEFA Europa League winners for Jack Grealish in 2021.

City are set to welcome Enzo Maresca as new manager after the recent departure of Pep Guardiola, though it is unclear whether the Blues are actively recruiting reinforcements in the number 10 position.
Maresca has held preliminary talks with City sporting director Hugo Viana over the club’s summer transfer plans, with the Blues prioritising the acquisition of a world-class midfielder to cope with the loss of Bernardo Silva – amid interest in Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson.
A new right-back is also reportedly on the agenda for City, who are likely to only strengthen their interest in Rogers in the event of notable departures from their current attacking midfield roster.
