Mahamadou Sangaré is expected to leave Manchester City this summer, with the Premier League side receiving ‘several’ approaches for his signature.

Having arrived at the City Football Academy on a five-year contract off the back of a 42-goal haul for PSG’s Under-19s, the teenage French forward adjusted seamlessly to the demands of English youth football.

Spearheading the Elite Development Squad (EDS) throughout the 2025/26 campaign, Sangaré registered 15 goals and three assists in 30 youth appearances, including seven goals in 16 Premier League 2 games.

Mahamadou Sangaré’s rapid development and lethal finishing have quickly made him one of the most talked-about teenagers in European football, leaving some City fans eager to see him integrated into senior cup squads next season.

However, as he prepares to feature for the France Under-19 national team at the upcoming European Championships, his future at the Etihad Stadium has now been thrown into doubt.

Mahamadou Sangare expected to leave Man City

Now, according to market insider Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City are currently receiving several approaches for highly-rated academy striker Mahamadou Sangaré – who is expected to leave the club during the ongoing transfer window.

In terms of potential next destinations for the France youth international, both Ligue 1 and Bundesliga are seen as the ‘most likely’ landing spots for the 19-year-old.

What else is being said about Man City’s forward line?

Aside from the expected movement in youth ranks within Manchester City, the club are also expected to see plenty of change within their first-team squad upon the arrival of new manager Enzo Maresca.

Whilst Erling Haaland’s place in the side is secure owing to his long-term contract, back-up striker Omar Marmoush could yet target a move in search of move regular top-level opportunities, as well as Savinho – who is a primary target for Tottenham.

Also remaining within the squad is Jeremy Doku, with reports from Belgium indicating that the lightning winger has agreed to extending his stay at the Etihad Stadium, penning a new and improved deal until the summer of 2031.

And amid the changes in wide roles, Manchester City are expected to explore the possibility of signing a new winger, in addition to their search of midfield reinforcements and possibly a new face at right-back to compete with Matheus Nunes for a starting role.
