Manchester City are exploring a summer move for Enzo Fernández, with the Chelsea midfielder potentially staying in the Premier League. City are regarded as front-runners.
Sky Sport reports that a switch to the Etihad Stadium is more than a rumour, that Fernández is viewed as Bernardo Silva’s successor, and that he is a specific request of Enzo Maresca, who is expected to replace Pep Guardiola.
Real Madrid, who could see José Mourinho return, and PSG also have the Argentina midfielder on their list. Fernández previously clashed with Chelsea after publicly expressing a desire to play for the Spanish club.
In 2025/26 for Chelsea, Fernández, valued at 90 million euros, made 54 appearances, 36 in the Premier League, 10 in the Champions League, four in the FA Cup and four in the League Cup. Across 4,379 minutes, he scored 15 goals and provided seven assists.
The former Benfica midfielder has already earned the Lisbon club a significant windfall.
