Manchester City take on Galatasaray tonight in their eighth and final Champions League league phase fixture at the Etihad Stadium. Tonight’s match is a must-win match for Pep Guardiola’s side. To have any hope of claiming a crucial top-eight finish in the Champions League league phase, City must beat Galatasaray tonight and hope that results elsewhere go their way. City will face a Galatasaray side who are packed with quality. Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane will also play against City which will be a special moment during tonight’s match.

Here is the latest Manchester City injury news and my predicted City starting eleven ahead of tonight’s match.

Latest Manchester City injury news.

There remains a host of players who are unavailable for Manchester City. For tonight’s match, Rodri is suspended after picking up a red card in City’s 3-1 defeat to Bodø/Glimt last week. Manchester City’s midfield general will serve a one-match ban tonight. Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi are ineligible to play in tonight’s match. They cannot be registered in Manchester City’s Champions League squad until the knockout phase of the competition begins.

Ruben Dias, John Stones, Josko Gvardiol, Mateo Kovacic, Oscar Bobb and Savinho are all ruled out of tonight’s match due to injury. An update on Manchester City’s official website confirmed their absence from tonight’s match.

In good news for Pep Guardiola’s side, Nico trained yesterday ahead of tonight’s match. The Spanish midfielder has missed City’s past four matches due to injury. Nico could be in line to start tonight’s important match now that he has returned to training.

Predicted City starting eleven.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: There looks to be no way that Donnarumma won’t start tonight’s match in goal.

Matheus Nunes: Nunes returned against Wolves and he seems to be a lock to start at right-back against Galatasaray.

Abdukodir Khusanov: I cannot see Khusanov being left out of the starting lineup.

Nathan Ake: With Marc Guehi ineligible to play tonight, it is a choice between Ake and Max Alleyne to partner Khusanov. I’ll give the nod to Ake due to his experience.

Nico O’Reilly: I’d be surprised if Rayan Ait-Nouri started instead of Nico O’Reilly, so I’ll go with O’Reilly to start at left-back.

Nico: The Spanish midfielder trained yesterday so my assumption is he is available for tonight’s match. I think he will start with Rodri suspended.

Bernardo Silva: Manchester City’s captain is about certain starter tonight.

Phil Foden: Foden was rested against Wolves. I’m expecting him to start in  midfield tonight in place of Tijjani Reijnders.

Rayan Cherki: The French international should start in a big match.

Omar Marmoush: I feel that Marmoush will start just behind Erling Haaland tonight. Jeremy Doku took another hard challenge against Wolves so that may see Marmoush start.

Erling Haaland: Haaland has had a rest and I’d be surprised if he didn’t start tonight’s pivotal match.
