Manchester City travel to the French Riviera on Wednesday, aiming to make it two wins from two in their Champions League campaign.
After a comfortable opening victory against Napoli, Pep Guardiola’s side are in good form. They will be looking to build on their 5-1 weekend demolition of Burnley with another strong performance.
The fixture also offers a chance for revenge. Monaco are one of only two teams to have ever eliminated a Pep Guardiola side from the Champions League before the quarter-finals, knocking City out in a memorable tie back in 2017. Therefore, a victory at the Stade Louis-II would banish those ghosts and solidify their control of the group.
Pep Guardiola has been handed a huge fitness boost. Influential midfielder Rodri is expected to be available to start despite being a doubt with a knee problem. However, the manager is still without long-term absentees Abdukodir Khusanov, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Omar Marmoush, and Rayan Cherki.
Erling Haaland will lead the line, making his 50th Champions League appearance in a career that has already seen him score a record 50 goals in the competition. He will be supported by Phil Foden, who created a game-high eight chances on matchday one.
Manchester City predicted XI: Donnarumma; Aké, Gvardiol, Ruben Dias, Lewis; Rodri; Foden, Bernardo Silva, Reijnders, Savinho; Haaland
The Champions League fixture will be played at the Stade Louis-II on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, with kick-off scheduled for 8:00 pm BST.
The match will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 2 in the UK. Coverage begins at 7:30 pm BST.
