Galatasaray are preparing to test Manchester City’s resolve, with Tijjani Reijnders lined up as their marquee midfield target for the upcoming window.

Fotomaç reports that the Istanbul club are prioritising an elite number eight to reshape their midfield, monitoring City’s squad moves and ready to open talks if the player becomes available.

Reijnders carries a €50 million valuation and has a long-term deal with the English champions running until June 2030.

An initial framework is already in place for Burnley’s defensive anchor Lesley Ugochukwu, and the board want to secure a partner. The coaching staff view the Dutch international as a rare all-rounder, able to win the ball deep then drive progressive transitions. For Okan Buruk, landing him would be a statement move aimed at narrowing the athletic gap in Europe.

Despite the financial muscle involved, Galatasaray intend to lean on guaranteed Champions League football and consistent starts to make an ambitious move possible.
