Manchester United appoint Olid as new head coach | OneFootball

Manchester United have appointed Eva Olid as their new head coach.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Red Devils this afternoon.

The 40-year-old has signed a two-year deal with Manchester United while the club hold an option to extend the arrangement by a further year.

Olid fills the vacancy left by former Manchester United boss Marc Skinner. The club and Skinner agreed a mutual parting of ways earlier this week. Skinner spent five years in charge of The Red Devils, winning the Adobe Women’s FA Cup in 2023/2024.

Olid joins Manchester United following a lenghty spell leading Scottish Women’s Premier League club Hearts. The Spaniard led The Jambos from the second tier to full-time football in the top tier. She then guided Hearts to a first-ever Scottish Premier League title success.

After being appointed Manchester United head coach, Olid said “The opportunity to become head coach of Manchester United Women is a dream come true.

“The club has outstanding infrastructure and everything we need to achieve our ambitions. We have an excellent training facility, an Academy that is already producing players capable of performing in a competitive first team and an exceptional group of support staff.

“There is already so much talent within our squad and I am excited to work with the players to support them to fulfil their immense potential.

“I am joining Manchester United at a really exciting time. There is a clear alignment in our shared vision for long-term success. I cannot wait to begin preparing a team that will make our incredible supporters proud.”

Olid will now prepare Manchester United for the 2026/2027 season.
