In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester United are eyeing a move for Red Bull Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are currently leading the chase to sign the French centre-back this summer.

Lukeba’s Impressive Rise In German Football

Lukeba is having a solid campaign at the German club as he has produced a series of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The 23-year-old has scored one goal and grabbed one assist in 26 matches for Red Bull Leipzig this season across all fronts.

The French talent is currently among the most promising young centre-backs in the Bundesliga. Therefore, Man United would do well to get him on board this off-season.

His current contract at the Red Bull Arena will expire in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him on a cut-price deal later this summer.

Is Lukeba A Good Option For Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick?

Lukeba is a solid tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and is proficient at playing his way out from the back.

Standing at 1.84m, the French sensation is a strong presence in the air as well when he is playing with confidence on the field. However, the jury is out on whether he can adapt to the high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to get a deal done for him in the upcoming transfer window.

We can expect Lukeba to bring more bite and steel to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s defence in the long run. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.
