In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester United are eyeing a move for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer. It has been revealed that the Red Devils are showing interest in bringing the French forward to Old Trafford in this summer transfer window.
Mateta had a productive campaign at the London club as he put in a string of impressive displays for them in the final third. The 28-year-old has banged in 16 goals and grabbed three assists in 50 matches for the Eagles last season in multiple competitions.
The French talent is currently one of the best strikers in the Premier League. Therefore, the Red Devils would do well to bring him on board this summer.
Mateta’s current contract at Selhurst Park will expire at the end of next season, which could open the door for Man United to sign him on the cheap in this transfer period.

Mateta excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for his teammates in the final third and is a strong runner with the ball as well.
The French sensation has proven his worth as a reliable goal-getter in the Premier League over the past couple of seasons. Standing at 1.92m, Mateta is a strong presence in the air as well. He has got enough experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.
We can expect Mateta to add more firepower to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s attack. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting role at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.
At 28, Mateta is playing in his prime, which makes him a good fit for Carrick’s needs this summer. He will also help the Mancunian club compete across all fronts over the next few years. Therefore, Man United should focus on going all out to recruit Mateta in this summer transfer period.
