In a recent report, The Guardian stated that Manchester United are facing stiff competition for West Ham United winger Jarrod Bowen. It is believed that the Red Devils would have to rival Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign the English speedster this summer.

Bowen’s Tough Season In English Football

Bowen has endured a difficult campaign at West Ham as he has struggled to help them find consistency in the Premier League. Still, the 29-year-old deserves a lot of credit for scoring ten goals and grabbing 11 assists in 41 matches for the Hammers this season across all competitions.

The English talent is still one of the most productive wingers in English football. Thus, it is no surprise that the Red Devils are eager to get a deal done for him this off-season.

His current contract at the London Stadium will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for Man United to sign him on a cut-price deal in the upcoming transfer period.

Bowen has got the pace to cause a lot of headaches for his marker out in the wide areas. He has got the eye to set up a few inviting chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.

The English wing wizard can even strike the ball with power from long range and can contribute by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from the flanks. Bowen is primarily a right-winger but can also serve as a striker down the middle if needed. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to settle into life at Man United.

We can expect Bowen to bring more firepower to Michael Carrick’s frontline. He is good enough to compete with Bryan Mbeumo for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford next season.

At 29, Bowen is still playing in his prime and could be a real asset for the Red Devils in the short term. He would be well worth the fight, so the Red Devils should step up their efforts to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.
