In a recent post on X, journalist Nizaar Kinsella revealed that Manchester United are in the mix to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils will have to compete with Arsenal and Manchester City in the race to acquire the services of the English midfield ace this summer.

Scott’s Decent Form In The Premier League

Scott performed at a high level for the Cherries in the previous campaign when he produced a run of solid performances at the heart of their midfield. The 22-year-old scored four times and earned one assist in 39 matches for Bournemouth last season in various competitions.

The English talent is currently among the most talented midfielders in the Premier League. Thus, it is no surprise that Man United are hoping to land him this off-season.

His current contract at the Vitality Stadium will expire in the summer of 2028, so the Red Devils would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about signing Scott later this year.

Should Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick Move In For Scott?

Scott is a tough-tackling midfielder who can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and can chip in by scoring the odd goal from midfield.

The English sensation is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if told to do so. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the Mancunian club.

We can expect Scott to add more quality and depth to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.

At 22, the future looks quite bright for Scott as long as he continues to improve with each year. He has got the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Thus, Carrick would be wise to move in for him before the end of this summer transfer window.
