In a recent report, Defensa Central mentioned that Manchester United are in the running to land Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi. It has been revealed that the Red Devils would have to compete with Real Madrid in the race to sign the English centre-back next year.

Guehi’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Guehi has enjoyed a good run of form at the London club as he has put in a string of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The English talent has been involved in 17 matches for the Eagles this season, scoring one goal and grabbing a couple of assists in all competitions.

The 25-year-old has been a dominant presence inside his half and deserves a ton of credit for making 22 tackles, two blocks, 12 interceptions and 54 clearances in the Premier League. He has also been excellent when distributing the ball from the back, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 85.1% in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out at the end of this campaign, which could open the door for Man United to sign him on a free transfer next year.

Is Guehi A Good Option For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?

Guehi is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and excels at playing his way out from the back.

The English sensation has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man United.

Guehi would no doubt add a lot of quality to Ruben Amorim’s defence. He is more than capable of nailing down a regular starting place at the Mancunian club.

At 25, Guehi has got his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a great option for the Red Devils to consider next summer. The English defensive ace might even help the Mancunian giants compete for a major trophy in the coming years. Furthermore, he is on an expiring contract and could prove to be an affordable choice for Man United to pursue at the end of this campaign.
