In a recent report, Wales Online revealed that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Cardiff City youngster Ronan Kpakio. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils would have to compete with Everton and Brentford in the race to land the Welsh whizkid.
Kpakio has come through the youth ranks of Cardiff City and has done well to break out as a first-team starter for them recently. The Welsh full-back is having an excellent campaign as he has scored one goal and grabbed six assists in 27 matches for his current employers this season in various competitions.
The 18-year-old is currently among the best young full-backs in English football. Therefore, it is no surprise that Man United are in the running to land him this year.
His current deal at Cardiff City will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to snap him up on the cheap this January or next summer.

Kpakio is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger quickly to make the odd interception for his side inside his half. He usually clears the danger when needed and can even create some decent chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
The Welsh prospect can contribute by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level.
Still, we can expect Kpakio to enhance the quality of Manchester United boss Michael Carrick’s backline in the long run. He is already good enough to compete for regular first-team football at Old Trafford.
At 18, Kpakio has got the potential to be a future star in English football. Therefore, the Red Devils will do well to get a deal done for him this year. However, Carrick has to be patient with his progress before he can unlock the best out of the player at the Mancunian club. With all things considered, Kpakio is a prospect to watch out for in the future and would serve as a great fit for Man United’s needs in the long run.
