In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Manchester United are set to finalise the signing of Atalanta midfielder Ederson. It has been claimed that the Red Devils have beaten Atletico Madrid in the race to land the Brazilian talent in this summer transfer period.

Ederson’s Impressive Campaign In Serie A

Ederson enjoyed a solid campaign at the Italian club as he managed to put in a run of impressive displays for them in Serie A. The 26-year-old registered three goals and grabbed a couple of assists in 41 matches for Atalanta last season on all fronts.

The Brazilian talent is currently one of the best central midfielders in Serie A. Therefore, it is no wonder that the Red Devils want to get him on board this off-season.

His current contract at the Italian club will run out in the summer of 2027, which could open the door for Man United to sign him on a cut-price deal later this year.

Ederson loves a tackle and can sense the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team at the centre of the park. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and can create some inviting chances for his teammates from midfield.

The Brazilian sensation can strike the ball well from long range and is full of energy and running at the centre of the park. Ederson is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate in the number ten position or as a defensive midfielder if required. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League.

We can expect Ederson to bring more quality and depth to Man United head coach Michael Carrick’s midfield department. He is good enough to earn a regular starting place at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.
