In a recent report, The Athletic’s Transfer DealSheet stated that Manchester United are showing interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha. It has been claimed that the Red Devils have identified the Germany international as a target for this summer transfer window.

Nmecha’s Impressive Form In The Bundesliga

Nmecha enjoyed a good run of form at the German club as he managed to put in a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The German talent participated in 42 matches for his current employers last season, scoring five times and securing three assists in the process across multiple competitions.

The 25-year-old is currently among the most talented central midfielders in the Bundesliga. Hence, Man United would do well to lure him to the Theatre of Dreams this off-season.

His current contract at Signal Iduna Park will expire in the summer of 2030, which could make it tough for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap later this year.

Should Manchester United Boss Michael Carrick Launch A Move For Nmecha?

Nmecha is a tough-tackling midfielder who can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when required and is a tidy passer as well from midfield.

The German talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and is full of energy and running in the middle of the park. Nmecha mainly functions as a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as an attacking midfielder or as a defensive midfielder if asked to do so by his manager. However, there are some question marks over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to sign him later this year.

Nmecha would add more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield. He has what it takes to fight for a regular starting role at Old Trafford next season.

At 25, Nmecha has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Man United to consider in this transfer window. He is good enough to help the Red Devils challenge for some major honours over the next few years. Therefore, Carrick should focus on launching a move for him before the end of this transfer window.
