In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Manchester United are showing interest in AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils have set their sights on the Dutch talent next year.

Smit’s Impressive Form In The Dutch Eredivisie

Smit has caught the eye at times with his performances at the heart of Alkmaar’s midfield this season. The 19-year-old has registered two goals and earned four assists in 19 matches for the Dutch outfit in this campaign so far in all competitions.

The talented midfielder has managed to shine at times in the Dutch Eredivisie and is currently among the best young talents in Dutch football. Therefore, Man United would do well to lure him to Old Trafford next year.

His current contract at Alkmaar will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Man United would find it difficult to get a deal done for the Dutch sensation next year.

Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Snap Smit Up Next Year?

Smit is a good tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his side inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when needed and is a good passer of the ball as well.

The Dutch midfielder can even contribute by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League.

Smit would no doubt bring more energy and dynamism to Man United head coach Ruben Amorim’s midfield department. He has what it takes to serve as an important member of the Mancunian club’s squad.

At 19, the future is quite bright for Smit as long as he continues to improve with each season. Therefore, Man United should focus on going all out to snap him up this winter or at the end of this campaign.
