Manchester United attacker Matheus Cunha could miss the Premier League game against Brentford at Old Trafford tomorrow following scans earlier this week.
The Man United star featured against Chelsea last Saturday, playing for 81 minutes before being replaced by Mason Mount.
Cunha appeared fine after the match, and it will be a surprise to most Red Devils fans to hear that he could miss Monday’s game.
Man United centre-back Leny Yoro is a doubt for the game after missing the trip to Stamford Bridge, while Matthijs de Ligt and Patrick Dorgu are out due to injuries.
Interim manager Michael Carrick will have to deploy another attacker in Cunha’s absence if he is unavailable tomorrow.
A victory for Man United tomorrow would almost secure qualification for the Champions League, as it would give them an 11-point lead over sixth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion.
The Bees are winless in their last five league games, drawing all of them, but they are a tough team. The Red Devils must be on top of their game to pick up all three points.
Being without Cunha for the game is a blow, but Carrick has enough depth in attack and will fancy his side’s chances of getting a vital win.
The 26-year-old has bagged eight goals and two assists in 30 league appearances this season and has been a key player since he arrived from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.
He will be eager to return to action for the game against Liverpool at Old Trafford next Sunday if he misses tomorrow’s game.
