Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire has signed a one-year contract extension with an option for another 12 months included in the deal, according to The National.
The Man United star was out of contract at the end of the current season but had not committed his future to the club despite interest from elsewhere.
Three Premier League clubs, four Serie A clubs and one Turkish club wanted to sign Maguire as a free agent at the end of the season.
However, the Red Devils were keen to hold on to one of their most experienced centre-backs for at least one more season.
The 33-year-old has featured in 20 games across all competitions this term, playing a major role under interim manager Michael Carrick.
The club have Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite on their radar as they prepare for life without Maguire, holding a meeting with his representatives in February.
Man United are also hoping Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven will both become mainstays in their starting XI.
Maguire has shown no signs of slowing down and will be looking forward to playing more regularly next season.
The England international joined Man United from Leicester City for £80 million in 2019, becoming the world’s most expensive defender at the time.
He has repeatedly proven his quality, and the Red Devils could do with his experience as they return to European football next season.
Man United are currently third in the Premier League table ahead of their final seven fixtures of the season, and a solid finish to the season will help them secure Champions League qualification.
