Harry Maguire and Kobbie Mainoo are close to agreeing new deals with Manchester United.
United are in talks with both players, who have been key figures in their renaissance under Michael Carrick, and who have revived their careers at Old Trafford.
They were at risk of losing defender Maguire on a free transfer this summer, when his current deal expires, while midfielder Mainoo was only tied down until next summer.
Now the 20-year-old is expected to sign a long-term deal until 2031, while Maguire could sign a one-year contract with an option for a further season.
Maguire and Mainoo, who were both recalled to the England squad by Thomas Tuchel on Friday, have been ever-present under Carrick, starting each of the nine matches before the trip to Bournemouth.
Mainoo had not begun a Premier League game this season under former manager Ruben Amorim and had been interested in leaving Old Trafford on loan either last summer or in January, before his fortunes were transformed by the sacking of the Portuguese.
Former captain Maguire, who joined for £80m from Leicester in 2019, had only begun four top-flight matches this season before being rushed back from injury by Carrick for his first game in charge, the 2-0 win over Manchester City.
The 33-year-old has made 265 appearances for United and, despite losing the captaincy under former manager Erik ten Hag, has fought to reestablish himself as a key player at the club.
Keeping Mainoo, meanwhile, will reduce the amount of business United need to do in the summer, when they are still expected to target at least one and probably two midfielders, with Casemiro having announced he will leave when his contract expires.
