Manchester United could challenge Leeds United for two summer signings, with Karl Darlow and Shea Charles both in the frame. According to Leeds Live, the Premier League club are exploring moves that would put them up against the Whites.

Darlow’s contract at Elland Road expires next week and he is in talks to stay. Manchester United are said to be increasingly confident of adding the 35-year-old to their goalkeeping group.

Attention may also turn to Charles, with the Old Trafford side credited with an interest in the Southampton midfielder. Leeds saw a £20million offer rejected and are likely to return with another bid for the 22-year-old.

Charles left Manchester City for Southampton in 2023. Discussions between Leeds and Southampton are ongoing.

United’s director of football, Jason Wilcox, previously took Charles to St Mary’s during his time there. United’s stance could complicate Leeds’ pursuit of both targets.
