Manchester United are interested in signing Serie A star Rafael Leao this summer.
Manager Michael Carrick guided his side to Champions League qualification, and the club’s hierarchy intend to back him in the transfer market.
The Red Devils’ main priority lies in midfield, but they are also looking to add a quality left winger to the squad.
Carrick’s side are linked with an interest in Leao, but they face competition from five Premier League clubs who are all keeping an eye on the 26-year-old, per Calciomercato.com.
Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle United could attempt to sign the talented forward in the upcoming summer window.
Leao has been a top performer for Milan since he joined from Lille in the summer of 2019.
He has made 291 appearances across all competitions, with 80 goals and 65 assists to his name.
Leao mainly played as a centre-forward last term, which affected his attacking output.
He recorded nine goals and three assists in 29 league matches.
The Portugal international accumulated 25 goal involvements when he operated as a left winger in 2024-25.
Milan failed to qualify for the Champions League after finishing fifth in the Serie A, leading to Massimiliano Allegri’s sacking.
The lack of European football may force the club to sell Leao, who still has two years left on his contract.
