In a recent interview with the United Stand, journalist Ben Jacobs claimed that Manchester United have set their sights on Bournemouth midfielder Tyler Adams. Jacobs said,
“But a new name that Manchester United are looking at at the moment is Tyler Adams, who is doing very well at Bournemouth.
“And there is a possibility that Tyler Adams moves in 2026. As far as I’m aware, it would be more for the summer rather than anything leading up to a big World Cup and a home World Cup for him.”
Adams is having a decent campaign at Bournemouth as he has managed to put in a run of influential displays for them in the Premier League. The 26-year-old has scored two goals and secured one assist in 15 matches for the Cherries this season across various competitions.
The United States midfielder has given a good account of himself at the centre of the park and deserves credit for making 35 tackles, 20 blocks, 21 interceptions and 26 clearances in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball accurately from midfield after completing 87.2% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).

Adams loves a tackle and can scan the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and excels at playing his way out from midfield.
The United States talent is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also function as a right-back or as a right-sided wide player if asked to do so. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man United.
We can expect Adams to bring more quality and depth to Ruben Amorim’s midfield department. He is more than capable of earning a regular starting spot at the Mancunian club in the coming years.
At 26, Adams has his best years ahead of him, which makes him a decent option for the Red Devils to consider this January or at the end of this campaign. Therefore, Amorim should focus on going all out to bring him on board in 2026.
