In a recent report, talkSPORT revealed that Manchester United have identified Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson as a target. It has been stated that the Red Devils will have to compete with Manchester City in the race to land the English midfielder this summer.
Anderson has enjoyed a good run of form at the Premier League club after he put in a series of influential displays for them at the centre of the park. The 23-year-old has scored two goals and earned three assists in 41 matches for Nottingham this season across all competitions.
The English sensation is currently one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United want to get a deal done for him later this year.
His current contract at the City Ground will run out in the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to snap him up on the cheap in the upcoming transfer window.

Anderson is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer as well.
The English talent can shoot the ball with power from long range and is a good dribbler from midfield. Anderson is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also serve as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if asked to do so by his manager. He is already quite familiar with the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man United if they manage to bring him on board later this year.
Anderson would add more energy and dynamism to Michael Carrick’s midfield department. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Manucnian club in the coming years.
At 23, Anderson has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent fit for Man United’s needs this summer. He might even help the Red Devils challenge for some major honours over the next few seasons.
