Manchester United focused on upgrading their attack last summer, signing Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
The trio have performed impressively this season, pushing the Red Devils to the brink of securing Champions League qualification.
While midfield will be their priority this summer, the club’s hierarchy wants to add a top-quality winger to the squad.
United have identified AC Milan’s Rafael Leao as an ideal option. Leao was once considered an untouchable asset by the Serie A club, but now they are ready to sell him.
According to Calciomercato, a fee of around €60 million could be enough to secure a deal for the 26-year-old.
United have reportedly initiated contact with the player’s representatives ahead of the summer transfer window.
An official from the Premier League club will also be present at the San Siro this weekend to watch the Portugal international in action against Juventus.
Leao has consistently performed well for Milan since joining the club in 2019.
The forward has recorded 80 goals and 65 assists in 287 appearances across all competitions. He helped Milan win the Serie A title in 2022.
Leao mainly operates as a left winger, but he can also be used as a centre-forward or a second striker.
He is highly rated for his physicality, explosive pace, dribbling skills and finishing ability.
