Manchester United have reportedly offered Turkish club Trabzonspor the chance to sign Andre Onana on loan.
Sporx report that Trabzonspor are in the market for a new goalkeeper after Ugurcan Cakir left to join rivals Galatasaray.
They have made an approach for Manchester City’s Stefan Ortega, who finds himself behind newcomer Gianluigi Donnarumma and James Trafford in the pecking order.
Meanwhile, United have also offered the services of Onana on a season-long loan deal.
The Cameroonian joined the English giants in 2023 and has been their number one goalkeeper since.
But despite some bright moments, his time at Old Trafford has been characterized by inconsistent displays and high-profile errors.
Last season, the 29-year-old made five errors leading to goals as his team finished 15th in the Premier League.
Onana picked up a hamstring issue earlier this summer and missed the bulk of the pre-season preparations.
Manager Ruben Amorim wanted another goalkeeper and managed to sign Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp for €21 million plus €4m in add-ons.
The Belgian is relatively young and inexperienced but he is expected to challenge Onana for a starting spot.
Amorim featured Altay Bayindir for the first three league matches, but the Turkish footballer failed to make a case for himself as he conceded four goals.
The Portuguese boss brought in Onana for the Carabao Cup game against Grimsby Town, but his two mistakes led to two goals and the League Two side ultimately won the match on penalties.
United did not actively seek to offload Onana during the summer window, but they have seemingly changed their stance after signing Lammens.
