According to a report from Bloomberg, Jim Ratcliffe has significantly reduced the asking price for OGC Nice. The Manchester United owner had previously been commanding a price in over €200m to sell the Ligue 1 club permanently.
However, interested parties have been reluctant to pay such a fee to acquire majority ownership of Les Aiglons. The Côte d’Azur outfit were put up for sale by INEOS in 2025, and have so far failed to get further than initial conversations about a potential sale of the club. The British businessman hired Lizard Inc. to find a buyer, but they have failed to find anyone serious about fronting the money to buy the French club.
Bloomberg understands that the uncertainty regarding broadcasting rights in French football have limited the ability of INEOS. Following the collapse of a broadcast deal with DAZN, Ligue 1 now has its own subscription service.
