In a recent report, Fichajes stated that Manchester United are set to reignite their interest in Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba. It has been mentioned that the Red Devils are planning to offer close to €150m to get the Cameroonian talent on board next year.

Baleba’s Impressive Form In English Football

Baleba enjoyed a solid campaign at the Premier League club as he put in a run of impressive displays for them in the middle of the park. The Cameroonian talent participated in 40 matches for Brighton last season, scoring four goals and grabbing a couple of assists in all competitions.

The 21-year-old offered good protection for his teammates at the back after he made 79 tackles, 47 blocks, 46 interceptions and 44 clearances in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from midfield after completing 87.4% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via fbref.com).

His current contract at the English club will run out in the summer of 2028. Hence, Man United would have to make a convincing offer if they want to recruit Baleba next year.

Is Baleba A Dream Choice For Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim?

Baleba is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his side at the centre of the park. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive.

The Cameroonian talent is a good passer of the ball as well. Baleba is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also play as a box-to-box midfielder if needed. He has got a wealth of experience in the Premier League and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Man United.

We can expect Baleba to bring more bite and steel to Ruben Amorim’s midfield. He is good enough to compete for regular first-team football at Old Trafford in the coming seasons.
