Manchester United sign former FC Barcelona forward Rolfö | OneFootball

Manchester United have completed the signing of former FC Barcelona forward Fridolina Rolfö on a two-year deal.

The Red Devils announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 31-year-old attacker joins Manchester United off the back of a four-year spell with FC Barcelona. In her time in Spain, Rolfö netted 38 goals in 129 appearances for FC Barcelona in all competitions. The player won 13 titles including two UEFA Women’s Champions Leagues and four consecutive finetwork Liga F titles.

On the international stage, Rolfö has been capped by Sweden on 100 occasions in which she has scored 33 goals.

After joining Manchester United, Rolfö said “It’s really exciting to be joining Manchester United, not just because of the size and history of the club, but also to become part of the journey the club is on in the women’s game.

“I have been fortunate to enjoy lots of success at Barcelona and other clubs I have played for, and now I want the same at Manchester United. The WSL is probably the strongest league in the world right now, so that was a big part of the appeal of coming here, as well as the chance to help the team establish itself in the Champions League.

“I can’t wait to work with Marc [Skinner], his staff and my new teammates and get started with this new adventure in my career.”

Rolfö is Manchester United’s second signing of the summer transfer window.
