After selling Khvicha Kvaratshkelia to Paris Saint-Germain during the winter transfer window, Napoli will use the money the capital club paid to find a replacement for the Georgian.

During his time with the Serie A side, the Goergian recorded 30 goals and 29 assists in 107 appearances for Napoli. As a result, it’s no easy feat to replace him. However, over the last few months, the Italian team have identified Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.

In March, journalist Laurie Whitwell pointed out that Manchester United haven’t ruled out the possibility of including Garnacho in their efforts to sign PSG target Victor Osimhen.

On the Inside United podcast, Whitwell mentioned that Manchester United are eager to bring Osimhen to Old Trafford. Napoli had shown interest in Garnacho before, so a swap deal could be a potential option.

Alejandro Garnacho has no plans to leave Manchester United

Garnacho stated his happiness at Old Trafford despite recent links to Napoli and Chelsea. The Argentina international was the subject of transfer speculation in January. However, speaking on Wednesday, Garnacho made it clear he wants to stay at Old Trafford and see out the final three years of his contract.

“As a footballer, you will hear rumours about the future,” Garnacho said (h/t The Mirror). “I am contracted until 2028, and I am happy here.”

Fichajes has previously reported that Alejandro Garnacho’s future at Manchester United is in doubt this transfer window, with Napoli submitting a €80 million offer for the young Argentine forward.

The Serie A club are undergoing a rebuild after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s winter move to PSG. With Victor Osimhen also potentially departing, Napoli are searching for a new star to lead their attack, and Garnacho’s youth and upside make him a strong candidate.

Manchester United haven’t officially responded to the offer, but €80 million is a substantial figure that could prompt the club to reconsider their position.
