As Barcelona navigate through a difficult period that has seen them lose out on Dani Olmo due to de-registration, the club have been linked with several new players in the market.

One of them has been Marcus Rashford. The Man United forward is enduring a difficult spell under new coach Ruben Amorim, who appears to have frozen him out.

Rashford, therefore, is prepared to leave Man United in the ongoing January transfer window, with Barcelona emerging as one of the potential destinations.

Rashford keen on playing for Barcelona

In the midst of uncertainty around the future of Rashford, Talksport’s Alex Crook has offered an update on the saga.

Crook revealed that Rashford is keen on playing in Spain, and therefore, Barcelona have emerged as one of his preferred destinations.

Crook does, however, point out that Barcelona are in a precarious position and might not be able to register new players.

Under the current circumstances, one would expect Barça to shift their focus on re-registering the new signings Olmo and Pau Victor.

The club are hoping for a positive update tomorrow, but nothing remains certain as of now. Should Barcelona lose out on Olmo, there will be question marks over the management.

In this sort of a scenario, it is unlikely Barcelona would consider making fresh moves, especially for a player who hasn’t been at his best for a while.

Indeed, Rashford’s progress has stagnated drastically in recent years, with the Englishman scoring just seven league goals last season and only four this term.

Not to mention, Rashford may also command a hefty salary and therefore, the Man United star may have to significantly lower his pay if he wants to be involved in a conversation with Barcelona.
