Manuel Neuer is set to become Germany’s all-time leader for World Cup starts when Germany face Paraguay in Monday’s round of 32.

According to BuLi News, the 40-year-old’s appearance would be his 23rd at the tournament.

That would move him clear of Lothar Matthäus and Miroslav Klose, who are tied on 22.

It would also be Neuer’s 128th cap for Germany, placing him fifth on the nation’s all-time appearance list.

He remains behind Lukas Podolski (130), Thomas Müller (131), Miroslav Klose (137) and Lothar Matthäus (150).
