Bild reports that Manuel Neuer could be sidelined for longer than first anticipated after suffering a torn muscle fibre.

The Bayern Munich goalkeeper, 39, is expected to miss three to four weeks.

Such a timeline could see him sit out Bayern’s next four Bundesliga matches against Eintracht Frankfurt, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen.

Jonas Urbig has been deputising in his absence.

The 22-year-old has made eight appearances for Bayern in all competitions this season.
