Manuel Neuer ‘to return’ for Bayern on Friday | OneFootball

Manuel Neuer is reportedly close to a Bayern Munich return on Friday against Borussia Mönchengladbach. Bild reports that the 39-year-old is expected to make the squad and could even start ahead of Jonas Urbig.

Neuer was pictured in training on Wednesday and completed the full session without issues, raising hopes of a home comeback against Gladbach.

He has been out with a calf problem since being withdrawn at half-time in the 3-0 win at Bremen on 14 February.

There was further encouragement for Vincent Kompany. Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala and Dayot Upamecano, who missed Tuesday’s session for workload management, returned to training, easing any minor doubts over their availability.

Alphonso Davies and Hiroki Ito remain out. In their absence, 16-year-old U17 left-back Richard Ajayi trained with the senior squad for the first time.
