Manuel Pellegrini asks Real Betis to land 23-year-old Barcelona forward if his team qualifies for the UCL | OneFootball

FC Barcelona have been enjoying a great run of form since the start of 2025, in which they have lost only one game up to now, the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final tie against Borussia Dortmund.

The Catalans have an unbeaten record in La Liga in that time, as they have won all of their league games, barring two, which ended in draws. One of these games was against Real Betis, when the two sides played a 1-1 draw at the Montjuic on 6th April.

Despite ending in a draw, this was quite an entertaining match, as Manuel Pellegrini’s well-drilled side put up a significant challenge to the most in-form team in Spain.

Real Betis have generally been playing quite well this season, and are still competing for a UCL spot, currently standing 6th, a single point behind Villarreal, who occupy the fifth position and the last UCL spot.

If Pellegrini is able to lead his team to the UCL next season, he has a clear demand from his club to strengthen his squad. According to Fichajes, the player he wants is none other than the Barcelona striker Pau Victor, whom the Spanish coach sees as a player capable of perfectly fitting in his offensive system.

The Blaugrana club brought Pau Victor from Girona permanently last summer after his loan season with Barca Atletic. However, he has not enjoyed a lot of prominence under Hansi Flick, which is rather understandable keeping in view the form of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.

Thus, a loan move would not be too undesirable for the Catalans, especially to a side that will be competing in the UCL. The player will be happy to get minutes in such a high-quality team, while Barcelona will also be happy to see their asset continuing his development.

Talks between the two sides have not yet started, but if Real Betis are able to qualify for the UCL, there is every reason to hope that this deal will go through.
