Manuela Zinsberger will leave Arsenal when her contract expires at the end of the season.

Currently sidelined with an ACL injury, the 30-year-old has been with the Gunners for seven years, since signing from Bayern Munich in May 2019.

The Austria international has now made 143 appearances for the club, and was part of the squad that won the League Cup in 2023 and 2024 as well as the UEFA Women’s Champions League last season.

Zinsberger was previously a Frauenbundesliga champion twice over with Bayern.

She has over 100 caps for her country, and featured in the 2022 Women’s Euros.

In an emotional social media video, Zinsberger said: “At the start I came here as a 23-year-old, a little girl – what a journey it has been.”

She added: “I definitely have put my whole heart into this club, into this pitch and into that whole team, and I’m so grateful what I have achieved at that club, it has been incredible.”

Manuela Zinsberger and the Arsenal squad depth

Daphne van Domselaar has become the first-choice goalkeeper for Arsenal since signing for the club in 2024.

25-year-old Germany former youth international Anneke Borbe signed for Arsenal at the start of the 2025-26 season, and has made herself a solid second choice to van Domselaar in Zinsberger’s absence.

Czech international Barbora Votikova joined the Gunners in February 2026 on a six-month loan deal from Slavia Prague, offering additional experienced cover after van Domselaar picked up a head injury in the final of the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup.

Arsenal also boast some highly-rated young goalkeepers, including 21-year-old Naomi Williams, who spent some time on loan at Bristol City earlier this season, and 17-year-old Amy Liddiard of the club’s academy.
