Nikolaj Coster-Waldau used Soccer Aid to show his Leeds United colours, flashing a quick salute before kick-off at London Stadium on Sunday, according to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk.

England beat the World XI 3-2 and the event raised £16.5million for UNICEF UK, with goals from the likes of Jermain Defoe, Michael Essien and Tim Cahill. The charity match came a week after Leeds lost 3-0 at the same venue in their final 2025/26 Premier League game.

Usain Bolt managed the World XI. The Danish actor started at right-back and his salute, caught on a video shared on X, came as the teams lined up. He was replaced after barely 20 minutes by Gladiators star Nitro, with the game still goalless.

Coster-Waldau, 55, is best known as Jamie Lannister in Game of Thrones, a role that began as a villain before audiences warmed to him. He received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor. Since the series ended in 2019, he has starred in The Last Thing He Told Me and BBC drama King & Conqueror as William, Duke of Normandy.

Leeds supporters will also remember his BBC message after the 2019/20 Championship promotion, in which the self-professed Bielsa fanboy left a voicemail thanking the manager for ending the club’s 16-year wait for Premier League football. He echoed that affection on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2019, joking about a man called Bielsa who comes in and transforms the world for good.
