Marco Palestra named Serie A’s fastest as Hojlund and Dodo trail | OneFootball

According to Football Italia, Marco Palestra has been named Serie A’s fastest player for 2025/26, securing the Frecciarossa Speed Award after posting the league’s top average sprint speed.

The Atalanta wing-back, on loan at Cagliari, averaged 27.96 km/h, edging Manchester United loanee Rasmus Hojlund at Napoli on 27.92 km/h, with Fiorentina’s Dodo third at 27.77 km/h.

Serie A calculates the prize using average speed from all sprints above 25 km/h across the season.

Last year’s winner was Jackson Tchatchoua, the Hellas Verona full-back who went on to join Wolverhampton last summer.

The recognition adds to a standout campaign for Palestra, who also collected the Serie A Best Defender award this week and is regarded as one of Italy’s most coveted young talents ahead of an expected summer move.

Inter have been heavily linked if he remains in Italy, while Premier League interest has also been mooted. Hojlund, meanwhile, appears to be edging closer to a permanent stay in Naples after a strong loan from Manchester United.
