María Molina signs Real Sociedad extension until 2027 | OneFootball

Real Sociedad have extended María Molina's contract until 2027, the club said in a statement on Friday, adding that the Catalan centre-back is a dependable presence with a competitive edge and assurance in build-up. She remains with the txuri-urdin as she recovers from a meniscus injury sustained in January.

Arturo Ruiz's side are not only active in the market, they are also prioritising continuity of the core group. The renewal follows three of the five additions planned for a season headlined by a return to the Champions League.

Molina had limited minutes from mid-season after that training-ground meniscus injury, which pushed her into a different role within the dressing room. She is aiming to be available as soon as possible once fully recovered.

Before the lay-off she featured in only 10 matches, which yielded six wins, three draws and one defeat. Her standout display came in November's 1-0 win over Barcelona in Zubieta, where she completed the full match.

This extension complements Real Sociedad's measured summer business, with Ainoa Campo, Ainhoa Marín and Laura Camino already confirmed. With the treatment room beginning to clear, Arturo Ruiz's women's project is taking shape for a campaign that offers ample reasons to be optimistic.
